One of the most beautiful events in our lives is seeing the magnificent sunsets that occur over the Gulf of Mexico. Each season and each configuration of clouds brings a new masterpiece for us to enjoy. Yet as every sunset appears and brightens, we know it will also diminish and fade away to become just a memory. As an artist I greatly enjoy the prospect of capturing some of the glory of our sunsets in my paintings.  I have painted them both in watercolor and in oil but this year for our Collector's Society giclee print, I have created a sunset in oil as seen over Shell Island. The trees directly across from Tyndall Air Force base create a distinct silhouette that is recognizable to many of our residents and visitors and it uniquely ours.  I hope you enjoy this new print that captures a moment in time of one of our spectacular sunsets.
